Amelia Island Club - Long Point

Amelia Island, Florida

Resort Course · 18 Holes · Par 72 · 6,775 yds · $100–$185 · 4.3

A Tom Fazio design at the Omni Amelia Island resort, Long Point winds through maritime forest and along the Intracoastal Waterway on Florida's northernmost barrier island. The resort layout features salt marsh hazards, live oaks, and scenic water views throughout the round.

History & Heritage

Long Point was completed in 1987 by Tom Fazio on Amelia Island, a barrier island along Florida\'s northernmost coast. A member-owned equity club within the Omni Amelia Island Resort, the layout runs through three distinct environments: maritime forest with live oaks, salt marshes along the Amelia River, and oceanfront dunes along the Atlantic.

The dramatic four-hole seaside sequence (holes 15-18) crosses A1A to reach the dune-side stretch. The club describes the back-to-back oceanside par 3s (15-16) as playing "like docile pussy cats or wild broncos depending on the wind."

Signature Holes

15
Hole 15 Par 3 · 170 yards

The first of back-to-back oceanside par 3s — the crown jewels of the course. They cross A1A to reach the dune-side stretch and can swing wildly in difficulty depending on Atlantic wind conditions.

What to Expect

The first 12 holes route through marshland and heavy tree canopy with natural waste bunkers and large undulating greens. Upon crossing A1A around the 13th, the character shifts entirely to a windswept seaside finish — a rare combination of marsh, forest, and true oceanfront in a single 18-hole routing.

Pristine conditioning. Abundant wildlife — herons, egrets, and marsh birds throughout.

Resort guest access through the Omni on a limited basis.

Playing Tips

Wind management is the key skill on the oceanside holes. Club selection can swing 2-3 clubs depending on conditions.

On the marsh holes, play to the safe side of fairways — errant shots find waste areas with no recovery.

The back nine is notably tougher than the front. Save your energy.
