History & Heritage
Amelia National was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2006 as a gated residential golf community near Amelia Island on Florida\'s northeast coast. Fazio threaded the layout through mature hardwoods and natural wetlands using the existing coastal-forested terrain.
Rated 74.9/138 slope. Regarded as one of the best private courses in the Southeast since opening. A Fazio-led renovation was underway as of 2025 to refresh the original design. Located five minutes from Amelia Island\'s historic downtown.
Signature Holes
One of the most photographed holes — framed by towering oaks and water. The coastal forest setting with Spanish moss creates a distinctly Lowcountry atmosphere.
What to Expect
Visually spectacular Fazio layout with generous fairways set against ancient live oaks, Spanish moss, and coastal forest. French Provincial clubhouse anchors the community. The course rewards positioning over brute length.
Coastal breezes off nearby Amelia Island affect club selection on exposed holes. Semi-private access at $55-100.
Playing Tips
Choose the right angle into Fazio\'s well-defended greens — positioning matters more than distance.
