History & Heritage

Aviara Golf Club opened in 1991 as the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in San Diego County. Located at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, it overlooks the Batiquitos Lagoon with Pacific Ocean views.

The course hosted the LPGA Tour's Kia Classic and JTBC Classic from 2010 through 2022. In 2016, a walking bridge at hole 3 was dedicated to Palmer during the 25th anniversary celebration.

Aviara has been named the top golf resort in Southern California and draws golfers who appreciate Palmer's integration of natural landscape into the playing experience.
