Boone Valley Golf Club

Boone Valley Golf Club sits on scenic Missouri River bluffs near Augusta, about 45 minutes west of St. Louis. Originally designed by P.B. Dye (son of Pete Dye) in 1992. Three-time U.S. Open champion and St. Louis native Hale Irwin later made substantial modifications, particularly to holes 15 and 18, prior to the 2007 U.S. Junior Amateur.

The club hosted the Boone Valley Classic on the Senior PGA Tour from 1996-2001 — Irwin himself won two of those events. Memorably, Larry Gilbert beat Irwin (the course\'s own architect) in a playoff. Water hazards come into play on twelve of eighteen holes.

A private design with wide fairways but challenging green complexes. Bentgrass throughout. Rating 74.3 / slope 145 from the back tees — a serious test. Water on twelve of eighteen holes demands course management.

The secluded setting in Missouri wine country provides panoramic river valley views. Open seasonally, roughly mid-February through mid-December.
