History & Heritage
Colonial Country Club\'s South Course was the longtime host of the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic on the PGA Tour for roughly 30 years. On June 10, 1977, Al Geiberger made history here — becoming the first golfer in PGA Tour history to break 60, firing a 13-under-par 59 in the second round.
One of the most iconic rounds in professional golf history happened at Colonial. The club was recently acquired by Heritage Golf Group (2025). Perennially ranked among the top 5 courses in Tennessee and named to Golf Digest\'s Top 100 Historic Courses.
