Coyote Creek Golf Club - Tournament
Morgan Hill, California
A Jack Nicklaus design south of San Jose in Morgan Hill, the Tournament Course at Coyote Creek offers championship-level public golf through the Coyote Valley. The 7,067-yard layout features Nicklaus's trademark strategic bunkering, bold green complexes, and views of the surrounding Santa Cruz Mountains and Diablo Range.
History & Heritage
Coyote Creek\'s Tournament Course opened in 1999, designed by Jack Nicklaus with Tom Peck — the only Nicklaus Signature course in the Bay Area open to the public. One of two 18-hole courses at the facility (alongside the Valley Course). Located at the southern tip of Silicon Valley with sweeping foothill views.
Frequently rated among the best public courses in the South Bay. Managed by KemperSports.
Signature Holes
Lakes border the entire right side and front the green. A dramatic water-lined closer demanding a precise approach under pressure — the signature finishing moment.
What to Expect
Par 72, approximately 7,067 yards. Open parkland with undulating terrain — the front nine has more elevation. Nicklaus\'s strategic bunkering and bold green complexes throughout. Water is a recurring theme, especially on the back nine.
Public at $50-90. The two-course complex makes a strong full-day destination.
Playing Tips
Water recurs throughout — club selection on approaches is critical. The course plays longer than the card suggests due to elevation. Greens are well-protected with steep surrounds.
