Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club

Ardmore, Oklahoma

Semi-Private · 18 Holes · Par 70 · 6,445 yds · $35–$60 · 4.1

A Perry Maxwell design in Ardmore where the famed architect grew up, Dornick Hills is a historic Oklahoma gem with Maxwell's signature tilted greens and dramatic terrain. The compact par-70 through rolling hills and native oaks is where Maxwell first developed the bold architectural ideas he later brought to Augusta National and Colonial.

History & Heritage

Dornick Hills was established in 1914 on Perry Maxwell\'s own dairy farm — the very first golf course he ever built. Maxwell started with four holes in 1913, expanded through the years. After his wife\'s death in 1919, he traveled the country studying design, ultimately becoming one of America\'s greatest architects — designing 70 courses and chosen to modify Augusta National (1937-38).

The 16th, "The Cliff Hole," is a par 5 finishing with a dramatic approach to a green perched on a natural rock cliff. Named "dornick" for the rocky outcroppings on the property. A Tom Doak restoration is currently underway.
