History & Heritage

Independence Golf Club opened in 2001 as the centerpiece of the Founders Bridge development in Midlothian south of Richmond. The Tom Fazio design was immediately recognized as the best public course in the Richmond area.

In 2013, architect Lester George led major renovations earning Golf Digest Top 10 recognition. The course has hosted the State Open of Virginia and other prestigious amateur competitions.

The facility features 18 championship holes plus excellent practice facilities at daily-fee pricing.
