History & Heritage

Interlachen Country Club was founded in 1909 in Edina, Minnesota. Willie Watson designed the original course in 1911, set between two lakes. Donald Ross later contributed renovations.

Interlachen's place in golf history was secured in 1930 when Bobby Jones won the U.S. Open here for the third leg of his Grand Slam. Jones clinched the title with a 40-foot birdie putt on the final hole.

The club has hosted the 2002 Solheim Cup and the 2008 U.S. Women's Open won by Inbee Park. It is consistently ranked among America's top 100 courses.

What to Expect

Interlachen is a classic Golden Age layout in a stunning lakeside setting winding through mature trees and along Lake Interlachen.

At 6,988 yards with a par of 72, the course is a fair but demanding test. Wind off the lake can be a factor, and tree-lined fairways demand accuracy.

Playing Tips

On lakeside holes, favor the safe side away from water. Wind off the lake affects club selection significantly.

The greens have classic Golden Age contours with subtle breaks. Position approach shots to leave uphill putts.
