The only course co-designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, King & Bear at World Golf Village combines both legends' design philosophies. Each architect designed alternating holes through Northeast Florida pine and wetland, creating a unique collaboration at the home of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

History & Heritage

King & Bear opened in 2000 at the World Golf Village adjacent to the World Golf Hall of Fame — the only golf course ever co-designed by Arnold Palmer ("The King") and Jack Nicklaus ("The Golden Bear"). Palmer Course Design and Nicklaus Design collaborated on every hole.

Right-to-left holes reflect Palmer\'s natural draw; left-to-right holes mirror Nicklaus\'s trademark fade. Each hole contains recognizable characteristics of both designers. Nicklaus Design completed a full bunker renovation in 2017.

Public access — open to all players at the home of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

What to Expect

A course rewarding strong tee ball striking above all else. Compared to other Nicklaus courses, the greens are relatively friendly and receptive. Five tee sets accommodate all skill levels. Lakes, wetlands, and natural Florida terrain throughout.
