Kukui'ula Golf Course

Kukui\'ula Golf Course was designed by Tom Weiskopf on 200 acres of Kauai\'s sunny south shore (a former sugar plantation) and opened around 2011 as the centerpiece of the Kukui\'ula luxury residential community in the Poipu area. Weiskopf considered this one of his finest designs.

Golf Digest has called it one of the best courses in Hawaii. Private for members but accessible to guests staying at the Lodge at Kukui\'ula. The south shore is the sunniest and driest part of Kauai, making it a reliable play even when the north shore is rainy.

A spacious, tropically lush layout winding across Poipu\'s landscape. Wide-open fairways suit a variety of skill levels, but the course has teeth when the trade winds blow. Several holes run along or near the coastline with elevated ocean vantage points.

The south shore microclimate is the driest on Kauai — firm, fast conditions are typical. Weiskopf honored the natural landscape rather than overpowering it.

Semi-private — Lodge guests can access, but book early as tee times are limited.

Poipu\'s trade winds are a significant factor on the exposed cliff-side holes. Adjust club selection for wind on every coastal shot.

Wide fairways are forgiving off the tee but approach shots to well-defended greens require accuracy.

South shore sun is intense — sun protection and hydration are essential.

Book tee times early — access for non-members is limited.
