Monterey, California

Private Club · 18 Holes · Par 71 · 6,831 yds · Members Only · 4.4

A Jack Nicklaus Signature design in the hills above Monterey, Pasadera offers a more inland Monterey Peninsula experience through oak woodlands and rolling terrain. The intimate private club features challenging green complexes and panoramic views of Monterey Bay.

History & Heritage

Pasadera (now TPC Monterey at Pasadera) was designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2000 — the only Nicklaus Signature course on the Monterey Peninsula. Situated on a mountain ridge about 10 miles inland from Pebble Beach.

The club has evolved through several names: Pasadera Golf & Country Club, Nicklaus Club Monterey, and most recently TPC Monterey at Pasadera after joining the TPC Network in 2025. Par 71, approximately 6,811 yards through oak woodlands and canyon terrain.

Signature Holes

14
Hole 14 Par 3 · 185 yards

The dramatic signature hole — a forced carry over a deep canyon/cliff to the green. One of the most visually intimidating par 3s in the Monterey area. The canyon depth makes it play much more demanding than the yardage suggests.

What to Expect

The front nine is relatively flat and open before plunging into severely downhill terrain. The back nine features dramatic, secluded holes winding through oak groves and canyons. Nicklaus credited the natural topography for allowing a course that feels naturally integrated.

Now part of the TPC Network (PGA Tour\'s course management brand). Provides a distinct inland alternative to the famous coastal Monterey courses.

Private — members and guests.

Playing Tips

The course mixes par 3s, 4s, and 5s in an unconventional sequence. Check the scorecard before each hole.

Canyon carries on several par 3s are longer than they appear. Take enough club.

The back nine\'s elevation changes significantly affect club selection. Trust your yardage device over your eyes.
