The Ocean Course at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club was originally constructed in 1928 by Herbert Strong — one of Florida\'s most historic layouts along 1.5 miles of Atlantic beachfront. Robert Trent Jones Sr. made mid-century updates, and Bobby Weed Golf Design oversaw significant renovations in 1998 and again around 2021-2022 (earning a restoration award).

Hole 9 features what many historians consider golf\'s very first island green — predating TPC Sawgrass\'s famous 17th by over 50 years. A member of the Florida Historic Golf Trail.
