History & Heritage
Renditions opened in 1999 near Annapolis, designed by Lester George and Dave Edsall on a unique concept: every one of its 18 holes is a replica of a famous hole from a major championship venue. It bills itself as a "Grand Slam Golf Experience," drawing from Masters, U.S. Open, Open Championship, and PGA Championship courses.
Recognized on GolfPass\'s "America\'s 10 Best Replica Courses." The opening holes replicate U.S. Open and PGA venues, then shift to Open Championship links-style, then into Augusta-inspired stretches including all three Amen Corner holes.
Signature Holes
A replica of Augusta National\'s famous 12th hole (Golden Bell) — the centerpiece of the recreated Amen Corner stretch (holes 6-8). The par 3 over water captures the beauty and tension of the original.
A replica of TPC Sawgrass\'s iconic 17th hole island green. The island putting surface recreates the most famous par 3 in modern golf — nerve-wracking regardless of how many times you\'ve seen it on TV.
What to Expect
The course shifts styles dramatically — parkland replicas from U.S. Open venues, links-style holes inspired by Open Championship courses, and Augusta\'s azalea-lined corridors including all three Amen Corner holes. Each hole features a historical write-up explaining the original.
The terrain and landscaping are interpretations adapted to Maryland, but strategic elements and visual character are faithfully recreated.
Public access at $45-85 near Annapolis — a unique concept experience.
Playing Tips
Treat each hole on its own terms. The course shifts styles dramatically from parkland to links to Augusta corridors.
The island green (hole 13, TPC Sawgrass replica) plays about the same yardage as the original. Take enough club and aim center.
Wind affects the open links-style holes significantly. Adjust club selection.
Read the historical write-ups at each tee — they enhance the experience.
