Part of the RTJ Trail's Capitol Hill complex south of Birmingham in Prattville, the Highlands Course is the most dramatic of the three courses on the property. The 7,630-yard layout features bold elevation changes, sweeping views from hilltop tees, and RTJ Sr.'s ambitious shaping that creates one of the most visually striking public courses in the Southeast.
History & Heritage
The Highlands Course is part of the RTJ Trail\'s Capitol Hill complex on over 1,500 acres near Prattville/Montgomery. Capitol Hill features three 18-hole courses offering radically different experiences. The Highlands runs along elevated terrain with bold hilltop views.
The most famous hole at the complex is the Judge No. 1 — a short par 4 with a 150-200 foot drop from tee to fairway, the most photographed hole on the entire RTJ Trail. Capitol Hill is among the most popular stops on the Trail.
