History & Heritage
The Trails was designed by Randy Heckenkemper (over 40 courses across the US) and built in 1993 along the South Canadian River in Norman. The cross-timbers setting — the transitional zone where Eastern forests meet the Great Plains — gives it a distinctly different feel from Oklahoma\'s typical open prairie courses.
Mature post oaks and blackjack oaks frame the fairways. Tighter and more wooded than most Oklahoma golf. Located minutes from the OU campus.
Signature Holes
One of the tree-lined holes along the South Canadian River corridor where the cross-timbers terrain creates natural elevation changes and strategic variety uncommon for Oklahoma golf.
What to Expect
A challenging, tree-lined course through cross-timbers woodland — tighter than typical Oklahoma prairie courses. Well-maintained with solid greens. Practice facility includes driving range, chipping areas, and putting greens.
Public at $25-50 — outstanding value in Norman.
