History & Heritage

TPC Craig Ranch was designed by Tom Weiskopf with D.A. Weibring and opened in 2004 in McKinney, north of Dallas. Weiskopf preserved natural limestone features and an 1800s roadbed in the routing.

The course gained national prominence when the AT&T Byron Nelson moved here in 2021, rebranded as the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. It has proven to be an excellent PGA Tour venue.

As a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, TPC Craig Ranch demonstrates environmental stewardship alongside championship golf. At 7,438 yards, it is one of the longest par-72 layouts on Tour.

Signature Holes

11
Hole 11 Par 4 · 460 yards

A demanding par 4 along the creek that plays as one of the toughest during the CJ Cup. Water threatens the entire right side.

14
Hole 14 Par 5 · 571 yards

A risk-reward par 5 producing dramatic CJ Cup moments. Long hitters can reach in two, but water guards the green.

16
Hole 16 Par 3 · 200 yards

A strong par 3 over water with a well-bunkered green. Wind can make club selection tricky.

18
Hole 18 Par 5 · 570 yards

A reachable finishing par 5 that provides exciting finishes. Eagles and big numbers are both possible with water threatening aggressive plays.

What to Expect

TPC Craig Ranch offers PGA Tour-quality conditioning accessible to the public. The Weiskopf design features wide fairways, strategic bunkering, and well-defended greens on rolling North Texas terrain.

At 7,438 yards from the tips, the course is long but very playable from forward tees. Conditioning is outstanding year-round.

Playing Tips

The par 5s offer the best birdie opportunities. Play aggressively on reachable par 5s but respect water hazards guarding several greens.

Wind is a factor on the exposed terrain. The Bermuda greens are firm and fast, rewarding shots that land on the correct portion.
