History & Heritage

Victoria National was designed by Tom Fazio on 418 acres of reclaimed Peabody Coal Company strip mine land in southern Indiana, opening in 1998. The dramatic terrain — deep ravines, ridgelines, and water features left by mining — gave Fazio extraordinary raw material. Now part of the Dormie Network.

Ranked No. 1 in Indiana by Golf Digest and No. 43 nationally (America\'s 100 Greatest). Widely considered Tom Fazio\'s best work by many architecture critics. The reclaimed strip mine origin story is one of the most unique in American golf.
