History & Heritage

Mount Woodson Golf Club was designed by architects Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt, who carved a layout through rocky, mountainous terrain in Ramona northeast of San Diego. The par-70 course earned a reputation as one of the most scenic golf experiences in the county.

Alliance GCP LLC purchased the club in 2016 and has worked to maintain the unique playing experience. Despite being shorter at approximately 6,000 yards, the dramatic terrain creates genuinely challenging golf.

Mount Woodson sits surrounded by massive granite boulders and native chaparral, offering a mountain golf experience just 45 minutes from the coast.

What to Expect

A one-of-a-kind mountain golf experience. At roughly 6,000 yards par 70, dramatic elevation changes, narrow fairways, and boulder-lined holes create genuine challenge. Every hole offers stunning views.

The hilly terrain makes the course play harder than the scorecard suggests.

Playing Tips

Elevation changes dramatically affect club selection. Trust yardage markers rather than your eyes.

Accuracy trumps distance. Walking is challenging due to terrain so consider a cart.
