ArrowCreek Golf Club - Legend
Reno, Nevada
An Arnold Palmer design in the Sierra foothills above Reno, ArrowCreek Legend offers sweeping views of the Truckee Meadows and distant mountain ranges. The semi-private layout features desert-mountain terrain with strategic arroyos, native vegetation, and wind exposure at 5,000 feet.
History & Heritage
ArrowCreek\'s Legend Course was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened August 25, 1999, in southwest Reno\'s Sierra foothills. A celebrity round featuring Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Fuzzy Zoeller, and John Daly launched memberships in 1998.
The club went private in 2002, endured bankruptcy, was rescued by 56 members ("Friends of ArrowCreek") in 2014, and received a $65-million-plus renovation after Lucky Star Golf LLC purchased in 2018. The companion Challenge Course was designed by Fuzzy Zoeller and John Harbottle.
Signature Holes
A driveable short par 4 tempting players to carry a large bunker fronting the green. High risk-reward with panoramic Truckee Meadows and Sierra Nevada views. The 18th (442 yards with ravine carry and the fastest green on the course) provides a memorable finish.
What to Expect
A 7,115-yard par-72 weaving around ravines, dry creeks, and high-desert rock formations. Palmer incorporated forced carries, native desert grasses, and fast greens. The setting feels isolated despite proximity to Reno.
Semi-private at $60-120. Slope 140. The elevation (~5,000+ feet) adds carry distance.
Playing Tips
Solid ball-striking is essential due to forced carries over ravines.
Desert landscape means lost balls vanish quickly in sagebrush. Bring extras.
Greens are notably fast, especially the 18th.
The elevation adds carry distance — club down accordingly.
