History & Heritage

Bayou Oaks Championship Course opened in 2017, designed by Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead as the championship replacement for courses destroyed by Hurricane Katrina flooding. City Park previously had multiple courses (including a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design) that were devastated. The new 250-acre venue combined two former footprints.

A major post-Katrina recovery milestone for New Orleans recreation. Part of a 36-hole complex with the North Course in one of the country\'s largest urban parks.
