History & Heritage
Brown Deer Park was founded in 1929, originally designed by George Hansen. Andy North (two-time U.S. Open champion, Wisconsin native) and Roger Packard later redesigned portions. This municipal course hosted the PGA Tour\'s Greater Milwaukee Open (later U.S. Bank Championship) for 16 years from 1994-2009.
Tiger Woods made his professional debut here on August 29, 1996 at the Greater Milwaukee Open at age 20. The GMO ran for 42 years total in the Milwaukee area.
