History & Heritage

Jacaranda Golf Club's East Course opened in 1971 in Plantation, Florida, in the Fort Lauderdale metro area, designed by Mark Mahannah. The 36-hole facility — East and West courses — quickly became one of the region's most popular daily-fee destinations.

In 2006, acclaimed architect Bobby Weed completed a comprehensive renovation of the East Course, introducing Paspalum tees and fairways — a salt-tolerant grass ideal for South Florida's conditions — paired with TifEagle Bermuda greens to produce a course that plays faster and firmer than in its original configuration. The renovation elevated Jacaranda East to first-class status in the South Florida market.

Signature Holes

4
Hole 4 Par 4 · 420 yards

One of the East Course's strongest holes, the 4th requires a drive through a narrowed fairway corridor to set up a mid-iron approach to a green protected by Bobby Weed's renovated bunkering on both sides.

12
Hole 12 Par 5 · 545 yards

A reachable par 5 that tempts players to go for the green in two, though water on the left side of the approach demands careful positioning off the tee.

What to Expect

Jacaranda East offers a well-rounded South Florida golf experience on a course that benefits from Bobby Weed's 2006 renovation. The Paspalum fairways and TifEagle Bermuda greens provide excellent playing surfaces year-round. The wide variety of hole designs keeps the course interesting for all skill levels.

Playing Tips

The Paspalum fairways at Jacaranda play differently than standard Bermuda — the ball sits up nicely. Bobby Weed's renovated bunkers have steeper faces than the original design. Morning rounds avoid the afternoon winds that add difficulty to the finishing holes.
