Lost Tracks Golf Club
Bend, Oregon
A Brian Whitcomb design on the south side of Bend, Lost Tracks offers accessible public golf through ponderosa pine forest with Cascade Mountain views. The straightforward layout provides a welcoming experience for all skill levels while the mountain scenery and pine-scented air elevate the round.
History & Heritage
Lost Tracks opened in 1996, designed, built, and owned by Brian Whitcomb — a past President of the PGA of America (2007-2008) and PGA Legend. Whitcomb\'s dream was a pure golf experience tucked into ponderosa pine forest on Bend\'s south side bordered by national forest.
The clubhouse doubles as a museum of Whitcomb\'s PGA career. A signature par 3 is accessed through a historic Pullman train car — one of the most unique tee-box approaches in all of golf.
Signature Holes
Accessed by walking through a historic Pullman train car — one of the most unique tee approaches in golf. Towering ponderosa pines completely obscure views of the green, demanding a committed shot into a hidden target.
What to Expect
A secluded 7,003-yard par-72 through ponderosa pines with a great mix of doglegs, reachable par 4s (one plays just 297 yards), and longer tests. Water features and bunkers add challenge but the forgiving layout suits average golfers.
Public at $35-70 — excellent Central Oregon value.
Playing Tips
Course knowledge helps with blind shots through the pines. The short par 4s are birdie opportunities if you pick the right line.
