Silver Creek Valley Country Club
San Jose, California
A Ted Robinson Sr. design in a master-planned community in south San Jose, Silver Creek Valley features a dramatic canyon routing with waterfalls, lakes, and hillside views. The private club offers a lush, resort-style atmosphere unusual for a residential community with impeccable year-round conditioning.
History & Heritage
Silver Creek Valley Country Club was originally designed by Ted Robinson Sr. (1992-1993) in San Jose\'s Evergreen Valley, then thoughtfully updated by the late Mike Strantz. The dual-architect pedigree — Robinson for the bold framework, Strantz for artistic refinements — is rare and highly regarded.
The canyon routing features dramatic waterfalls, lakes, and hillside views. Meticulously sculpted fairways with canyon drops create a visually stunning setting within an upscale residential community.
Signature Holes
One of the waterfall holes — waterfalls greet players as they approach through the canyon routing. The Robinson/Strantz combination creates both visual spectacle and genuine strategic challenge.
What to Expect
Par 72, 5,200-7,000 yards across five tee sets. The course meanders through hills and valleys with very few flat lies. Canyon drops and water hazards throughout. Meticulously maintained within a residential setting.
Strictly private — members and guests only.
Playing Tips
Club up for uphill approaches. Factor sidehill lies on nearly every shot.
Missing greens on the wrong side leaves very difficult recoveries — Strantz\'s refinements added strategic complexity.
Course knowledge is a significant advantage.
