Briggs Ranch Golf Club
San Antonio, Texas
A Tom Lehman design south of San Antonio, Briggs Ranch emulates the rugged ranch lands of South Texas with native mesquite, dramatic bunkering, and a links-inspired layout. The championship course has hosted numerous state and regional tournaments.
History & Heritage
Briggs Ranch Golf Club was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2001 about 20 miles west of downtown San Antonio through rugged South Texas ranchland. The owners\'s stated goal was to create 18 signature holes. The Dormie Network acquired the club in 2017.
Fazio shaped the course through native mesquite with dramatic bunkering and a links-inspired feel despite the inland Hill Country setting. Greens were recently refurbished with TifEagle bermuda; fairways, tees, and rough are Zoysia grass. Ranked among the top residential courses in the U.S. by Golfweek.
Signature Holes
Earned a Grade "A" from Golf Today for its architecture — gives nothing away and demands a pure, well-struck shot. A demanding one-shotter that exemplifies the goal of creating 18 signature holes.
What to Expect
A private Dormie Network experience through rugged South Texas ranchland. Fazio\'s dramatic bunkering and links-inspired design create strategic decisions on every hole. The Zoysia turf plays firm — expect the ball to run.
The experience is intentionally understated and focused on the course itself. The native mesquite and open ranch terrain provide a wild, natural setting.
Private — Dormie Network members and guests only.
Playing Tips
Zoysia turf plays firm — expect extra ball roll throughout. Plan approaches accordingly.
The dramatic bunkering is both beautiful and penal. Course management around green complexes is essential.
