TPC San Antonio - Oaks Course
San Antonio, Texas
Host of the Valero Texas Open on the PGA Tour, TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course is a Greg Norman design at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort. The championship layout stretches through rolling Texas Hill Country terrain with live oaks, native grasses, and panoramic vistas.
History & Heritage
TPC San Antonio\'s Oaks Course opened in 2010, co-designed by Greg Norman with player consultant Sergio Garcia, at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort. The course has hosted the PGA Tour\'s Valero Texas Open annually since opening — one of the oldest events on Tour.
The Norman design departs from modern manicured tournament style, incorporating the natural scrubby Texas landscape with native grasses and rugged Hill Country terrain. Conditions are maintained to PGA Tour standards. The Valero Texas Open is extended through future seasons.
Signature Holes

A punishing par 4 closer that has produced memorable Valero Texas Open moments. Part of a demanding 17-18 finishing stretch of back-to-back par 4s.
What to Expect

PGA Tour-standard conditioning throughout. The JW Marriott resort provides full amenities. Resort guest and public access at $125-250.
Sergio Garcia\'s involvement brought a player\'s perspective to the strategic shot values.
Playing Tips
Wind is constant on the exposed Hill Country terrain. Factor it into every club selection.
The native areas flanking fairways are penal. Course management off the tee is essential — missing fairways costs strokes.
The closing holes demand precision under pressure. Save your best golf for 17-18.
Firm, fast conditions mean the ball runs. Plan for extra roll on approaches.
